Quality Roof Upgrade Delivered Despite Challenging Conditions

Our team has once again demonstrated remarkable dedication and resilience, battling through a variety of challenging weather conditions to remove and replace over 1,700m² of existing insulation and waterproof membrane at our British Gas project in Stockport. The work was critical, but we ensured that the busy offices below remained operational and uninterrupted throughout the entire process.

With the support of specialist contractors, we successfully removed the PV panels and relocated the AC condensers, making way for the complete removal of the roof covering down to the steel substrate. This was no small feat, but our team worked efficiently to prepare the deck, insulate it, and apply a Westwood Liquid coating to ensure long-lasting protection for the building.

New gutter liners were installed, and all walkways were reinforced with cement boards to enhance safety and durability. To finish, the client’s personal choice of green anti-slip coating was applied to the walkways, creating a striking contrast and ensuring safe, reliable access.

Additionally, we implemented a bespoke fixed guard rail system on the two upper roofs, replacing the old free-standing system. This improvement significantly enhances safety while offering a more permanent and effective solution.

A special thank you goes to the building facilitator and the client for their ongoing support throughout this project. Their cooperation was invaluable in helping us complete the work on time and within budget.

As we move forward, we’re excited to continue collaborating with all involved during phase 3 of the project. It’s been a pleasure working together to bring this scheme to life, and we look forward to the next phase of success.
