Everlast Group is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for Outreach Programme of the Year at the 2026 CN Workforce Awards, recognising the impact of our Building the Future initiative, delivered in partnership with ROAM.

The nomination celebrates an initiative that is helping shape the future of construction by engaging primary school children with the industry through exciting, practical experiences that encourage teamwork, confidence, problem-solving and, above all, safety awareness.

Building the Future Programme

The construction industry faces an ongoing challenge in attracting new talent and changing outdated perceptions of the sector. (The Looming Talent Crisis in UK Construction)

Building the Future was created to help tackle that challenge from the very beginning.

Working alongside ROAM, our teams visit schools to deliver interactive construction-themed activities that give children an insight into the industry while introducing important everyday safety lessons. Through activities such as crate stacking, construction challenges and hazard awareness games, pupils experience first-hand the skills that construction professionals use every day.

Rather than simply talking about careers, the programme allows children to experience them.

It encourages communication, teamwork, resilience, confidence and practical thinking, whilst demonstrating that construction offers exciting, rewarding and diverse opportunities for future generations.

More Than an Award

Being shortlisted is an incredible achievement, but the greatest success continues to be the impact the programme has on the schools and children who take part.

Teachers have praised the programme for bringing learning to life and creating memorable experiences that extend beyond the classroom.

One participating school described the programme as:

"Experiences like these are invaluable. They not only bring learning to life, but also nurture collaboration, creativity and problem-solving from an early age."

Another school commented that the day became one of the most memorable events they had experienced, highlighting the confidence and teamwork demonstrated by the children throughout the activities.

Feedback like this reinforces exactly why the programme exists.

Investing in the Future of Construction

At Everlast Group, we believe our responsibility extends far beyond delivering construction projects.

As an industry, we have a collective responsibility to inspire future generations, develop the workforce of tomorrow and ensure young people understand the exciting opportunities available within construction.

The Building the Future programme forms part of Everlast Group's wider commitment to social value, education, community engagement and supporting the long-term future of the construction industry.

Thank You

This nomination would not be possible without the enthusiasm of the schools who have welcomed us, and the continued partnership with ROAM.

We would also like to congratulate all of the other shortlisted organisations and look forward to celebrating the achievements of everyone involved at the CN Workforce Awards.

Whatever the outcome, we are incredibly proud of the difference this programme continues to make.

Together, we're not just building projects. We're building the future.
