Welcome to the annual Property and Construction Networking Week: May 2026

A guide from #TeamEverlast

As well all are aware, this week is a great opportunity to connect with people across the industry, share ideas, and build relationships that last beyond the event itself.

It can also be a long week with a busy schedule… so here are a few simple tips from the Everlast team to help you get the most out of it.

This guide exists to help you:

  • survive the small talk
  • avoid shoe-related regret
  • look after yourself
  • leave the week feeling accomplished!!

☕ Firstly – Take care of the basics

It sounds simple, but the small things make a big difference during a busy week:

  • Stay hydrated throughout the day
  • Make time for proper breaks where you can
  • Don’t underestimate how far a good coffee will go (Go to our #TeamEverlast Guide to Leeds for our favourite spots)
  • Bring some good snacks!
  • Have knowledge of great pit stop locations (again, our Guide to Leeds can help with that)

🤝 Focus on meaningful conversations

Networking isn’t about meeting as many people as possible – it’s about having the right conversations.

A few simple prompts that can help:

  • What projects are you currently working on?
  • What’s been a key challenge or focus for your team recently?
  • What’s brought you to the event this week?

Taking time to listen often leads to the most valuable connections.

📱 Make follow-ups easy

The value of networking often comes after the event.

A few small habits that help:

  • Make a quick note after conversations so you can remember key points
  • Connect on LinkedIn while the conversation is still fresh
  • Follow up within a few days where relevant

It doesn’t need to be complicated – just consistent.

🧠 Give yourself space across the week

Networking Week is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s completely fine to:

  • Take short breaks between sessions
  • Step away when you need to reset
  • Prioritise the events and conversations that matter most to you

The most productive weeks are often the ones where you pace yourself well.

Again, check out our Team’s Guide to Leeds for where they will be escaping to for some peace, quiet and reset time!

👟 Your shoes will betray you

They always do.

Wear sensible ones please!

If you are reading this too late:
We are sorry. There is no fix. Only pain management, and plasters!
