At Everlast Group, safety isn’t just a rule… it’s a habit.

How you feel, how you prepare, and how you communicate can make the difference between a smooth day on site and a preventable accident.

Your family. Your colleagues. Your future.
They’re all counting on you to come home safe every day.

These are our top tips for working safely, every day.

1. Start Safe Before You Step on Site

Your wellbeing off-site matters just as much as wearing your PPE on site.

  • Sleep well: Alert minds spot hazards faster. Fatigue increases risk.
  • Eat and hydrate: Fuel up for focus and stamina. Pack healthy snacks and drink plenty of water, especially in warm weather.
  • Manage stress: A calm brain works smarter and safer. If something’s on your mind, refer to your Wellbeing Card for access to support, or contact your HR team and/or Line Manager for additional support on site.
  • Prep your day: Pack your PPE, plan your tasks, and avoid last-minute rushes that can lead to mistakes.

2. Nail Your On-Site Safety Habits

Small actions. Big impact. These habits protect you and your team every day.

  • Check your PPE: Damaged gear is dangerous gear! Don’t risk it.
Carry out pre-use checks, especially for work-at-height PPE. Look for common issues like fraying, cracks, loose fittings, or wear and tear, and report defects immediately to your SHEQ team, and line manager.
  • Listen up in briefings: Toolbox talks aren’t optional… they’re lifesaving.
At Everlast, we deliver regular toolbox talks and site briefings to highlight key risks and controls, and make sure everyone knows the plan for the working day.
  • Take your time: Rushing leads to mistakes. Slow and steady wins safety.
  • Use tools correctly: Only use equipment you are trained and authorised to use.
At Everlast, we manage this through training, competency checks, and supervision – cutting corners can cost lives.
  • Spot and report hazards: One loose cable can ruin a day… or worse.
Use the Everlast Safety QR code on site to quickly report hazards, close calls, and incidents so they can be dealt with before someone gets hurt.
  • Communicate clearly: Your team works safer when everyone’s in the loop.
If something doesn’t feel right, speak up – let your full team and line manager know.
  • Stay active: Keeping fit supports your body, your work, and your mental health.
Activities like yoga, pilates, tai chi, strength training, or stretching all help improve balance, strength, focus, and injury prevention.

Above all else, Follow Your Safety Mantra

For Everlast Group this is:

Pause, Process and Proceed – Take care in your work, do it properly, get home safe!
